1. Check what uses the line

Phones, alarms, payment terminals, lift emergency phones, door entry, broadband and router services may all depend on older lines.

2. Confirm the number you need to keep

If a phone number is important to the business, make sure it is clearly confirmed before any change or migration is started.

3. Check broadband suitability

VoIP services need a suitable broadband connection. If the connection is unreliable, that should be reviewed before moving key calls onto it.

4. Plan before the last minute

Leaving legacy service changes too late can increase disruption risk, especially where multiple services depend on the same line.
